In the cultural events calendar of Southeast Europe, the central position end of October has been taken for many decades by the International Belgrade Book Fair. This regional largest event devoted to the book carries out promotion of literary creation and education, cultural exchange with foreign countries and the current literary and social matters launching.
Informally famous as the Book Fest, the Book Fair hosts annually the most important local and many international writers and publishers, who feature their old editions and current production.
An important sign of the Book Fair is a plentiful side event program. Through many promotions, presentations, lectures, round table conferences and public discussions, the participants present to the professional and general audience, many topics important for literature, publishing and culture.
